Back on Sept 11th, 2005, I drove 2 & 1/2 hours to see HH the Dalai Lama in Idaho with no tickets. I was able to get some for Sept 12th at the Chapter 1 Bookstore in Ketchum (Sun Valley sort of) from Cheryl, the owner, whom I still have not met, over the phone. When I am in the area, Wood River Valley, I always stay with my best freind, 1st Cousin Ronnie who has a huge heart and likes to party occasionally and it is such a joy having a cool guy like Ronnie in my life and of course all of his friends as well.
HH was giving a talk & presentation at the Hailey High School football field (12 miles South of FuFu Sun Valley) crystalized by former Atheist, now I presume Buddhist, Kiril Sokoloff. Upon the entrance were the security guys who refused to let me in with my large Nikon digital SLR. I didn't have time to go back to my car about a half mile away, so I just left the camera laying quietly on the school lawn, across from the field, for anybody to just pick up and swipe. Call me stupid, something I can attest doing countless times, but I made that decision without much effort.
I went in and gave the wrong dated ticket to the gate lady......I could tell that she noticed the ticket was for tomorrow & with a slightly raised eyebrow, she split the ticket anyway....telepathically signaling me to get my spiritual ass in the arena. Inside was what I expected.......lots on very cool people with a firm & a mostly unspoken joyful presence that had a collectve sence of seeking something "out there" with a real higher purpose. All the media people were there with all their gadgets, but they too had the compassion factor emanating from HeartChakraVille
